At first glance the dashboard in ServiceDesk Plus appears to be simple, but dig a little deeper and you’ll uncover a very useful feature that will take your reporting to the next level.
As you may already know, ServiceDesk Plus enables you to add reports as widgets to be shown on the dashboard.
It is also possible to display the report itself onto the dashboard, giving you a clear view of exactly what is going on with your service desk.
However, ServiceDesk Plus also offers a useful ability to add external widgets using a URL.
Navigate to your dashboard, click ‘New’, ‘New Widget’, and then ‘New External Widget’.
This feature enables you to add any URL as a widget onto your dashboard, effectively giving you access to limitless applications! In this example I’ve connected it to an OpManager widget, enabling me to easily monitor my OpManager alarms from my ServiceDesk Plus dashboard. Monitoring in this way can help you be reactive – seeing issues before the users do, and fixing them before they are even aware.
For even more capabilities, you can connect it to Zoho Reports and show real-time reports from hundreds of applications such as Salesforce CRM, Xero, and Google Analytics.
With this powerful feature you are only a click away from monitoring hundreds of applications and displaying complex reports with ease – all from the ServiceDesk Plus dashboard!
